This year marks our 15th trip to The Big Island since 1999 and there are still things we haven't done. This is the first time we've been on the island for King Kamehamaha Day and I think it would be nice to attend an event. We are arriving on June 9 and will be at Paniolo Greens in Waikoloa. Which event would be best to attend? Kona on June 10, North Kohala on June 11, or Hilo on June 11? Or not at all?
Opinions?

I'd choose Hilo mainly because it is more "old" Hawaii. And one of the events is lei draping, and there' s a King Kamehameha statue in Hilo. You could look at the schedule of events on-line and see what interests you at the various locations -- parades, hula, crafts, etc.
