Aloha Kona Forum readers!

My family and I moved to the Big Island a couple of months ago and we are thoroughly enjoying our new home here in beautiful Waimea. A heartfelt mahalo to the many people who have contributed to our smooth transition into our new life in Hawaii!

Now that we are settling in, it would be great to meet people in the community. We are very interested in learning about our new home, the flora and the fauna, gardening, the history and the cultures that make this such a special place. I'd love to hear from anyone who can suggest ways we can get involved in our local community, meet new people and make new friends.

Aloha! My husband and I finally arrived here on June 1 and are now all moved from California into our home here in Waimea. So far really loving it also! Our 20 yr old daughter will arrive on July 6 for a few month's stay. We are also planning to put in a garden and get involved in whatever the island and area have to offer. We love to meet new people - we started going outrigger canoeing last week and that was great. We should meet - what are you guys doing for work etc and what is your schedule like? We are working from home right now. I'm sure you can show us a lot more since you've been here awhile.
